Offering this new 5-Forward-speed-plus-Neutral-&-Reverse MST 200-Series transaxle to replace 930-020 and 920-009 transaxles. The 930-020 transaxle superseded the original 920-009; these were manufactured to fit the Toro and Wheel Horse 212-5 riders. If you need a 930-020 or 920-009, this may be your only option -- the 930-020 became obsolete from Peerless in October of 2011. This transaxle has the full factory warranty at a 12% discount off the last MSRP! It is factory-lubricated, ready to bolt-in and run.
This in-line-shift, gear-drive, new-in-box 5-speed MST 200-Series Peerless transaxle has a 5/8"-diameter x 1-3/16"-tall input shaft with keyway and snap-ring groove, 3/4"-diameter axle shafts with keyways and snap-ring grooves on the ends, and the short, square-top shift shaft as shown. (The square-top shift shaft can be satisfactorily used with the two-flat Toro shift arm.) The overall end-to-end axle length is approximately 29-1/4"; the axle ends extend out from the case approximately 4-11/16" on each side. This makes these axles approximately 1/4" longer than the original axles -- correct spacers will be included. The case has two sets of industry-standard mounting holes -- the close-together holes are on 13" side-to-side centers x 1-3/4" front-to-back centers; the far-apart mount holes are on 16-1/4" x 2-1/2" centers. It also includes a complete new brake assembly.
BRAKE NOTE: If the brake lever on this transaxle does not match the brake lever on your transaxle, switch the lever -- all Peerless brake levers are interchangeable, so this is not a problem. The brake lever may or may not be the exact one shown in Photo 2.
NEUTRAL SWITCH NOTE: The neutral-safety switch on the 930 and 920 transaxles fits on the top of the transaxle, by the shift shaft towards the front. The switch position on this MST 200-Series transaxle is on the front of the top cover, as shown by the red plug in Photo 1. You will need to relocate your switch to this position.
Being new, this transaxle is covered by the Peerless 2-year Consumer Use/90-day Commercial Use/30-day Rental Use Limited Warranty within the USA and the 1-year Consumer/90-day Commercial/30-day Rental Limited Warranty outside the USA. A dated receipt will be provided to validate the warranty, dated to reflect its arrival at your place so you won't lose warranty coverage for travel time. Note that the warranty covers defects in material and workmanship -- it is not a blanket guarantee against abuse and mistreatment. A copy of the Peerless Warranty will also be included with the transaxle.
The Part Number for a standard 930-020 was 794536. The last MSRP on the 794536 transaxle with the axle-bearing option would have been $514.00 FOB Indiana; my price makes this new upgraded transaxle available to you at a 12% discount!
MOUNTING NOTE: The holes on the lower-front corners of the transaxle are not threaded, since the mower manufacturer uses 5/16"-18 self-threading bolts to hold the front support(s) to these corners. If you are re-using your original bolts or equivalent OEM bolts, make sure they have clean threads when re-installing these supports. If you do not have the original-style bolts and are using standard machine-thread bolts for these front-corner supports, you will need to carefully tap these holes to match the threads of your bolts. WARNING: If you plan on pre-tapping these holes, the case material is only about 0.060" (1/16") thick at the back of these holes, so measure the hole depth and set your tap accordingly, or you will break through the case into the gear-lube area.
For the technically-minded Buyer, the Forward-shift gear ratios for this MST 200-Series transaxle are: 1st) 2.64:1; 2nd) 1.30:1; 3rd) 0.90:1; 4th) 0.67:1; and 5th) 0.60:1. Input-pinion ratio is 2.31:1, and final-drive ratio is 9.89:1. Reverse is 2.08:1.
For comparison, the 930-020 ratios were: 1st) 3.08:1; 2nd) 2.33:1; 3rd) 1.50:1; 4th) 1:1; and 5th) 0.67:1. Input pinion ratio is 3.00:1, and final-drive/differential ratio is 6.69:1. Reverse was 1.40:1.
DO NOT ATTEMPT TO USE THIS 'A'-Input TRANSAXLE AS-IS ON A REAR-ENGINE RIDER (where the transaxle is mounted with the input pulley, brake and shift arm BEHIND the axle) or you will have 1 forward speed and 5 reverse speeds.
QUESTIONS? Please -- before you ask a "Will-it-fit?" question -- compare the measurements of your transaxle to the dimensions I have listed above for this transaxle, and note the Model and Serial Numbers off your current transaxle. Yes, that may require safely jacking up your mower, removing a wheel, then crawling under the mower with a scale, tape measure, flashlight and notepad, as well as a rag to carefully clean off dirt and grease. In your "Question," also include the Model and Serial Number off the mower. Thanks!

FEEDBACK: Our Feedback is 100%, which is good. The latest Feedback, however, is in December of 2011, which may raise questions. The reason for this is because we had to drop PayPal as an Approved Payment Method in our Store due to eCrater’s restrictions, and the only way Feedback can be left is if we show PayPal as an Approved Payment Method and the Buyer pays with PayPal through the eCrater Checkout. For this reason, there are no Feedbacks since December of 2011, even though we’ve had hundreds of satisfied customers since then. If you would like to get a referral from a recent customer near you, please let us know. We have nothing to hide, and your satisfaction is our priority.
