Offering this new "Made-in-the-USA" Peerless Gear LTH 2000-006A modular hydrostatic transaxle at a discount off the $760.00 MSRP from Peerless Gear or $672.00 from Sears. This transaxle is factory-lubricated, ready to bolt-in and run.
This new-in-box hydrostatic transaxle is manufactured to fit Sears, Craftsman, Poulan, Husqvarna, and Weed-Eater brand front-engine lawn tractors and riding mowers. It has a 4-3/4"-diameter input pulley mounted over the 7-1/4"-diameter cooling fan, with the pulley centerline 4-1/2" above the case-seam centerline. The speed-control lever is on the left side; the brake and free-wheeling controls are on the right side. It has 3/4"-diameter axle shafts that extend out from the case 4-3/4" on each side; the axles have 3/16" x 2-3/4" keyways with snap-ring grooves on the axle ends. The overall end-to-end axle length is approximately 29-1/4". The case has two sets of industry-standard mounting holes -- the close-together holes are on 13" side-to-side centers x 1-3/4" front-to-back centers; the far-apart mount holes are on 16-1/4" x 2-1/2" centers.
MOUNTING NOTES:
1. The hole in the front casting of the transaxle is not threaded (last Photo), since the mower manufacturer uses a 5/16"-18 self-threading bolt to hold the front support to this tab. If you are re-using your original bolt or equivalent OEM bolt (P/N 532428867), make sure they have clean threads when re-installing these supports. If you do not have the original-style bolt and are using a standard 5/16"-18 USS or 5/16"-24 SAE machine-thread bolt for this front support, you will need to carefully tap this hole to match the threads of your bolt.
2. Make sure you have the front support securely fastened to the transaxle or misalignment will occur.
3. If the belt guard has been pushed against the pulley during shipping, move it away so that there is 1/8" (3 mm) space between the guide and the pulley edge (Photo 3).
DRIVE-LINKAGE NOTE: These transaxles are for hand-shift applications only. They are shipped from the factory with the F-N-R lever locked in Neutral by the Nylock nut which is tightened against the painted-dot spring on the right side of the transaxle. When installing the transaxle into the mower, align the shift lever in the Neutral position on the fender, then connect the shift linkage to the transaxle, adjusting as necessary. When linkage Neutral matches transaxle Neutral and the linkage is installed, loosen the F-N-R Lever nut exactly four (4) turns.
OVERFLOW RESERVOIR NOTE: The translucent reservoir tank on top of the hydro module will have a plug in the breather hole to prevent oil leakage if the transaxle is turned upside-down during shipping. Before installing the transaxle into the mower, remove the plug and install the breather that is included separately with the transaxle, or you will have internal over-pressure and external leakage during operation.
Being new, this transaxle is covered by the Peerless 2-year Consumer Use/90-day Commercial Use/30-day Rental Use Limited Warranty within the USA and the 1-year Consumer/90-day Commercial/30-day Rental Limited Warranty outside the USA. A dated receipt will be provided to validate the warranty, dated to reflect its arrival at your place so you won't lose warranty coverage for travel time. Note that the warranty covers defects in material and workmanship -- it is not a blanket guarantee against abuse and mistreatment. A copy of the Peerless Warranty will also be included with the transaxle.
This is an 'A'-Input transaxle -- it mounts in the mower with the input pulley, shift arm and brake AHEAD OF the axle. DO NOT ATTEMPT TO USE THIS TRANSAXLE on any rider where the transaxle is mounted with the input pulley, brake and shift arm BEHIND the axle, as it is not engineered for this mode of operation.
QUESTIONS? Please -- if you are attempting to use this transaxle to replace a different transaxle -- before you ask a "Will-it-fit?" question, compare the measurements of your transaxle to the dimensions I have listed above for this transaxle, and note the Model and Serial Numbers off your current transaxle. Yes, that may require safely jacking up your mower, removing a wheel, then crawling under the mower with a scale, tape measure, flashlight and notepad, as well as a rag to carefully clean off dirt and grease. In your question, also include the Model and Serial Number off the mower. Thanks!
Also, if you cannot find the 2000-xxx Number on your transaxle but the hydro module has a 6892P91 on its label and an H6891P92 on the axle-module label, this is a 2000-006A.

SHIPPING NOTE: This transaxle will be shipped with a plug in place of the breather valve on top of the overflow reservoir, and the breather valve is in a separate plastic bag. This prevents fluid loss if the carton is turned over during shipping. Before installing the transaxle in your mower, remove the plug with a 3/16" Allen wrench, then install the breather valve with a7/16" nut driver or socket. Do not overtighten the breather valve.
