Offering this new-replacement upgraded "Made-in-the-USA" 5-Forward-speed-plus-Neutral-&-Reverse MST 200-Series conversion transaxle with full factory warranty to replace the now-obsolete 915-029 and 915-032 or 915-032A transaxle used on Garden Way, Murray, Sears and Craftsman, rear-engine and mid-engine riders, and the 915-034 on the Swisher PC-300 Power Cart. It will also replace the Dana/Spicer 'B'-Input 4360-Series transaxles used on these early-model riders and the 4450-Series transaxles used on some of these late-model mid- and rear-engine riders, since Spicer got out of the mower-transaxle business in March of 2012.
This transaxle is factory-lubricated, ready to bolt-in and run.
This upgraded, in-line-shift, gear-drive, new-in-box 'B'-Input 5-speed Model MST 200-Series Peerless replacement transaxle has a 5/8"-diameter x 1-3/16"-tall input shaft with keyway and snap-ring groove, 3/4"-diameter axle shafts with keyways and snap-ring grooves on the ends, and the short, square-end shift shaft as shown. The overall end-to-end axle length is approximately 31-1/4"; the axle ends extend out from the case approximately 5-1/4" on one side. and 6-1/4" on the other. The case has two sets of industry-standard mounting holes -- the close-together holes are on 13" side-to-side centers x 1-3/4" front-to-back centers; the far-apart mount holes are on 16-1/4" x 2-1/2" centers.
The "upgraded" part of this transaxle is the heavy-duty needle-bearing option installed on the ends of the axle shafts, inside the housing -- something the original 915-Series transaxles did not have. These reduce the friction of the axles running inside the normal case bushings compared to a regular transaxle, allowing for better longevity and durability. This upgrade was done by a Tecumseh-Peerless Master Technician at an Authorized Tecumseh-Peerless Service Center, and reassembly was blueprinted at the same time.
INSTALLATION NOTES:
1) This is NOT a bolt-in replacement. There are component-position differences between this MST 200-Series transaxle and the original 915-032(A) and 915-034 transaxle -- the input shaft, shift shaft and brake are in slightly different positions on the MST 200 (see Photo 2 -- 915 on top, MST 200 on bottom). By using this 'B'-Input MST 200-Series transaxle in place of the original 915-032(A) or 915-034, you will need to slightly modify your existing linkages and belt guides. The mower rear hitch plate may also need to be extended, modified or cut out slightly; the rear-corner support strap/brace may need to be modified and/or re-positioned, or a new corner support fabricated; and you may need a slightly longer belt.
2) Since the 31-1/4" end-to-end axle length of this MST 200 may be slightly different than the 915-Series axles, you may also need to trim the wheel spacers so the wheel hubs will fit correctly on the axles, or you may need to add additional thrust washers. Let me know your wheel-hub length when you order. Any axle-length difference will not cause any interference problems between the wheels and the frame.
BRAKE LEVER NOTE:
The correct brake levers for the 915-Series are also obsolete, but all Peerless brake levers are interchangeable, so you may also need to install the brake lever from your original 915 in place of the one that will come on this transaxle.
GARDEN WAY NOTE: If you need to replace a 915-029 transaxle on a Garden Way unit, please let me know, as there are slight axle-length differences between the 915-032 and the 915-029.
MOUNTING NOTE: The holes on the lower-rear corners of the transaxle are not threaded, since the mower manufacturer uses 5/16"-18 self-threading bolts to hold the front support(s) to these corners. If you are re-using your original bolts or equivalent OEM bolts, make sure they have clean threads when re-installing these supports. If you do not have the original-style bolts and are using standard machine-thread bolts for these front-corner supports, you will need to carefully tap these holes to match the threads of your bolts. If you want new OEM self-threading bolts, I carry these in stock.
WARNING: If you plan on pre-tapping these holes, the case material is only about 0.060" (1/16") thick at the back of these holes, so measure the hole depth and set your tap accordingly, or you will break through the case into the gear-lube area.
DO NOT attempt to operate your mower without at least one corner-support brace.
For the technically-minded Buyer, the Forward-shift gear ratios are: 1st) 2.64:1; 2nd) 1.30:1; 3rd) 0.90:1; 4th) 0.67:1; and 5th) 0.60:1. Input pinion ratio is 2.31:1, and final-drive/differential ratio is 9.89:1.
FRONT-ENGINE RIDER NOTE:
DO NOT ATTEMPT TO USE THIS 'B'-Input (Axle-Forward) TRANSAXLE AS-IS ON A FRONT-ENGINE RIDER (where the transaxle is mounted with the input pulley, brake and shift arm AHEAD OF the axle) or you will have 1 forward speed and 5 reverse speeds.
Being new, this transaxle is covered by the Peerless 2-year Consumer Use/90-day Commercial Use/30-day Rental Use Limited Warranty within the USA and the 1-year Consumer/90-day Commercial/30-day Rental Limited Warranty outside the USA. A dated receipt will be provided to validate the warranty, dated to reflect its arrival at your place so you won't lose warranty coverage for travel time. Note that the warranty covers defects in material and workmanship -- it is not a blanket guarantee against abuse and mistreatment. A copy of the Peerless Warranty will also be included with the transaxle.
QUESTIONS? Please -- before you ask a "Will-it-fit?" question -- compare the measurements of your transaxle to the dimensions I have listed above for this transaxle, and note the Model and Serial Numbers off your current transaxle. Yes, that may require safely jacking up your mower, removing a wheel, then crawling under the mower with a scale, tape measure, flashlight and notepad, as well as a rag to carefully clean off dirt and grease. In your "Question," also include the Model and Serial Number off the mower. Thanks!

FEEDBACK: Our Feedback is 100%, which is good. The latest Feedback, however, is in December of 2011, which may raise questions. The reason for this is because we had to drop PayPal as an Approved Payment Method in our Store due to eCrater’s restrictions, and the only way Feedback can be left is if we show PayPal as an Approved Payment Method and the Buyer pays with PayPal through the eCrater Checkout. For this reason, there are no Feedbacks since December of 2011, even though we’ve had hundreds of satisfied customers since then. If you would like to get a referral from a recent customer near you, please let us know. We have nothing to hide, and your satisfaction is our priority.
