Offering this unique matching pair of 2-tooth differential axle spider gears for Peerless 820-Series transaxles and for 1200- and 1300-Series transaxles that use 1"-diameter axle shafts, 10-tooth differential sun-gear spiders and 16-tooth axle spider gears. This 2-piece gearset "locks" the differential while allowing the original axles and differential to be kept intact.
These gears fit on the axle inner ends, and the stock full-tooth gears fit inside the differential sun gear. The differential sun gear rotates, turning its inner pin with the full-tooth gears, but since the axles can't rotate freely, locked in place by just the two teeth, both axles turn the same with no differential action, the same as a one-piece axle. Simply replace the original 16-tooth axle spider gears (Peerless IPL Reference 13) with these two gears and both axle shafts will turn the same. These new gears are Made-in-the-USA from SAE8620 alloy, hardened to Rc 58-62, the same alloy and heat-treat specification used for other Peerless steel-cut, heat-treated gears.
