Contact Seller for information on this obsolete hydrostatic transaxle that will need to be assembled from a separate Hydro Module, Axle Module, and accessories.
I also know where there is a new-in-box one of these in Australia that I sold a while back, that was never used, that is currently for sale.

This Peerless Gear LTH 2000-015B modular hydrostatic transaxle is needed to replace the original, obsolete-&-no-longer-available VST 205-025 transaxle on Murray center-discharge, rear-bagger riders and others. It will replace the 205-025, -025A, -025B and -025C transaxles. It will also replace the obsolete 2000-016B used on Panther Roof Cutters. And it is an excellent replacement for the obsolete 2000-030/-030A hydrostat used on Australian front-engine lawn tractors and ride-on mowers made by Australian Mower Company (AMC) and Allied Australia.

The 2000-015B is a 'B'-Input transaxle -- it mounts in the mower with the input pulley, shift arm and brake BEHIND the axle, with the axle towards the front of the unit. DO NOT ATTEMPT TO USE THIS TRANSAXLE on any rider where the transaxle is mounted with the input pulley, brake and shift arm AHEAD OF the axle, as it is not engineered for this mode of operation, and will not perform properly.

When completely assembled, this transaxle has a 4-3/4"-diameter (12 cm) input pulley mounted over the 7-1/4"-diameter (18.4 cm) cooling fan, with the V-pulley centerline 4-21/32" (11.8 cm) above the case-seam centerline. The speed-control lever is on the right side; the brake and free-wheeling controls are on the left side. It has 3/4"-diameter axle shafts that extend out from the case 5-7/8" (15 cm) on each side; the axles have 3/16" x 2-3/4" keyways with snap-ring grooves on the axle ends. The overall end-to-end axle length is approximately 31-5/16" (79.5 cm). The case has two sets of industry-standard mounting holes -- the close-together holes are on 13" side-to-side centers x 1-3/4" front-to-back centers (33 x 4.45 cm); the far-apart mount holes are on 16-1/4" x 2-1/2" centers (41.3 x 6.4 cm).

MURRAY / VST 205-025 CONVERSION NOTES:
To make this transaxle work correctly as a replacement for the VST 205-025 transaxles, there are seven areas of modification that need to be performed:
1. Rear side-by-side idler pulleys on mower frame need to be lowered slightly;
2. Cutout of rear side-by-side idler pulley crossmember to allow LTH fan and pulley to spin freely;
3. Left side corner brace;
4. Length of drive belt;
5. F-N-R (Forward-Neutral-Reverse) rod and connection;
6. Brake spring connection; and
7. Transaxle disengage lever.
Purchase of the transaxle modules as a replacement for the VST 205-025 will also include a full-scale drawing of the original and modified F-N-R pedal-to-transaxle rod link, as well as a 5-page Set of Instructions and 22 complementing digital photographs. For an additional $47.00, I can also include the correct drive belt. The correct 205-025C brake lever will be included at no extra cost, as will the drive-rod extension.

PANTHER 2000-016B CONVERSION NOTES:
To use this transaxle on a Panther Roof Cutter, the F-N-R shift linkage needs to be modified slightly for proper alignment. The Lovejoy drive coupling will also need to be connected to the top of the pulley. And if you will be using this on a Panther, please let me know so I can remove the brake assembly prior to shipping, as the Panther does not use a transaxle brake.
As noted previously, this is a 'B'-Input transaxle. The 2000-016B transaxles that were originally used in the Panthers are an 'A'-Input transaxle, and even though they worked for many years, they are not the correct transaxle for this application.

AUSTRALIAN 2000-030 NOTES:
If you cannot find the 2000-030 Number on your transaxle but the hydro module has a 7229P91 on its label and a 6796P92 label on the axle module, yours is a 2000-030 or 030A, and this transaxle will be the correct replacement.

DRIVE-LINKAGE NOTES:
1. To make this work correctly as a replacement for the 2000-030 transaxle, the one that uses the 7229P91 hydro module and the 6796P92 axle module originally, you may need to replace the control arm that comes on this transaxle with the one that is currently on your 2000-030, after modifying it so the foot-control linkage engages the control arm at the top instead of at the bottom. Otherwise, pedal-forward will be reverse on the transaxle, and pedal-reverse will be forward.
2. Make sure that any bypass/disconnect linkage allows the arm to move to the fully-engaged position when running or you will have hesitation ("hiccupping") and hydro-fluid overheating when running. Internal shaft damage may also occur.

MOUNTING NOTES:
1. The support-strap hole on the corner of the transaxle, by the brake, is not threaded, since the mower manufacturer uses 5/16"-18 self-threading bolts to hold the front support(s) to these corners. If you are re-using your original bolts or equivalent OEM bolts, make sure they have clean threads when re-installing these supports. If you do not have the original-style bolts and are using standard machine-thread bolts for these front-corner supports, you will need to carefully tap these holes to match the threads of your bolts.
2. Make sure you have the support securely fastened to the transaxle or misalignment will occur.

QUESTIONS? Please -- if you are attempting to use this transaxle to replace a different transaxle -- before you ask a "Will-it-fit?" question, compare the measurements of your transaxle to the dimensions I have listed above for this transaxle, and note the Model and Serial Numbers off your current transaxle. Yes, that may require safely jacking up your mower, removing a wheel, then crawling under the mower with a scale, tape measure, flashlight and notepad, as well as a rag to carefully clean off dirt and grease. In your question, also include the Model and Serial Number off the mower. It may even require you to remove the transaxle from the tractor to read the ID labels. Thanks!

FEEDBACK: Our Feedback is 100%, which is good. The latest Feedback, however, is in December of 2011, which may raise questions. The reason for this is because we had to drop PayPal as an Approved Payment Method in our Store due to eCrater’s restrictions, and the only way Feedback can be left is if we show PayPal as an Approved Payment Method and the Buyer pays with PayPal through the eCrater Checkout. For this reason, there are no Feedbacks since December of 2011, even though we’ve had hundreds of satisfied customers since then. If you would like to get a referral from a recent customer near you, please let us know. We have nothing to hide, and your satisfaction is our priority.
